Roadmap
Like most opensource projects, development is just a hobby. Unlike most opensource projects, we didn't write the code originally - we simply picked up where the original authors left off back when they abandoned it in 1998.
Some of the things we have planned will move around code with the intention of making the more lovely parts accessible to people with interests other than just compiler design. We're trying to attract a wider interest by splitting the code into smaller, more-specific projects.
Compilers are complex beasts. Understanding the code can be difficult - especially for something written specifically to showcase something out of the ordinary. We're still in the process of learning about large parts of the code.
We don't know everything about TenDRA. We might not be able to answer your questions. We are, however, most certainly interested in what you're up to.
Forthcoming Intentions
This page will show the roadmap for the near future of TenDRA, and the current project status.
Currently emphasis is on releasing various utilities as stand-alone projects (though still under tendra.org), instead of bundling them with the TenDRA compiler. SID and Lexi have been done; up next is Calculus.
Now that the first backwards-compatible release of Lexi has been made, we're setting about working through the multitude of proposed feature changes it has in store.
After that, many of the other dependant tools will be moved out into a project collectively providing all TDF-related utilities.
Meanwhile, work is continuing on the compiler suite itself, which is still in something of a state of flux during its cleanup.
You can follow what we're up to on the blog and through the timeline.
